SINGLE REVIEW: NEYO- PART OF THE LIST

INTRODUCING MY NEWEST TOPIC HEADER: SINGLE REVIEW. IN CASE YOU’RE WONDERING, I’M REFERRING TO MUSIC SINGLES FROM TODAY’S MOST POPULAR & TALENTED ARTISTS IN THE INDUSTRY. LET’S KICK IT OFF WITH THE GENTLEMAN HIMSELF, MR. NEYO, WITH PART OF THE LIST:

NEYO-PART OF THE LIST

The fourth single from Ne-Yo's platinum "Year of the Gentleman" album is a sentimental slice of acoustic-based R&B. He stretches his sound a bit with some nice musical flourishes: acoustic guitar strumming and signature tight background harmonies that lead to a grandiose, sweeping arrangement by song's end. With prose not usually found in pop songs, Ne-Yo laments some of the more quaint traits of a lost love. This is a classy slice of pop/R&B that should score well with his growing audience. —Chris Williams
